Cyclone | Long Pathlength Gas Cell

The Cyclone™ is a configurable long pathlength gas cell designed for infrared spectroscopy applications. It features a Borosilicate glass body combined with protected gold mirrors to optimize signal-to-noise ratio, achieved through advanced optical modeling. The accessory supports ambient temperature operation and vacuum conditions up to 15 p.s.i.

Each Cyclone™ model offers adjustable or fixed pathlengths within defined ranges via an adjustable mirror carriage, enabling users to tailor pathlength from 0.5 m up to 10.6 m. The design incorporates anodized components, Viton or Kalrez ‘O’ ring seals, and interchangeable windows made of KBr, CaF2, or ZnSe. A purgeable transfer optics box and Benchmark series baseplate mounting facilitate integration with various spectrometers.

Features and Purposes
  • Pathlength ranges: 0.5–2.5 m (C2), 1.0–8.0 m (C5), 2.1–10.6 m (C10)
  • Number of passes: 4–20 (C2), 4–32 (C5), 8–40 (C10)
  • Internal volume: 0.19 L (C2), 1.33 L (C5), 2.60 L (C10)
  • Vacuum operation up to 15 p.s.i.
  • Borosilicate glass cell body with anodized components
  • Protected gold mirrors to ensure long-term stability
  • Sealing options: Viton or Kalrez ‘O’ rings
  • Window materials: KBr, CaF2, ZnSe (interchangeable depending on spectral requirements)
  • Adjustable mirror carriage allows precise pathlength control within specified steps
  • Compatible with a broad range of FTIR spectrometers, including Agilent, Bruker, PerkinElmer, Thermo Nicolet, Shimadzu, Jasco, and others
  • Optional accessories include additional mirror carriages, vacuum/gas inlet and outlet taps, pressure gauge, desiccant storage caps, and purge bellows
