The Harrick Praying Mantis™ Low Temperature Reaction Chamber is engineered for diffuse reflectance spectroscopy on rough and high-surface-area samples such as powders. It is suitable for heterogeneous catalysis, gas-solid interactions, photochemical reactions, and oxidation studies, providing controlled measurements across a broad range of temperatures and pressures.
This accessory is compatible with the Praying Mantis accessory and supports both FT-IR and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. It enables precise surface analysis under regulated environmental conditions including vacuum and elevated pressures.
Operates from high vacuum: 133 μPa up to 133 kPa (1 atm). Temperature range from -150°C to 600°C under vacuum conditions. Equipped with three inlet/outlet ports for cell evacuation and gas introduction. Constructed from chemically resistant 316 stainless steel. Includes a low-voltage heating cartridge and a K-type thermocouple for temperature control. FKM fluoroelastomer O-rings (Viton equivalency) ensure chemical resistance and sealing. Sample packing tool and spill tray included for safe and efficient sample handling. Optical domes with windows: Two KBr windows plus one glass observation window (FTIR configuration) Two SiO2 windows plus one glass observation window (UV-Vis-NIR configuration).
