Harrick Praying Mantis™ Low Temperature Reaction Chambers

The Harrick Praying Mantis™ Low Temperature Reaction Chamber is engineered for diffuse reflectance spectroscopy on rough and high-surface-area samples such as powders. It is suitable for heterogeneous catalysis, gas-solid interactions, photochemical reactions, and oxidation studies, providing controlled measurements across a broad range of temperatures and pressures.

This accessory is compatible with the Praying Mantis accessory and supports both FT-IR and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. It enables precise surface analysis under regulated environmental conditions including vacuum and elevated pressures.

Features and Purposes
  • Operates from high vacuum: 133 μPa (10-6 torr) up to 133 kPa (1 atm)
  • Temperature range from -150°C to 600°C under vacuum conditions
  • Equipped with three inlet/outlet ports for cell evacuation and gas introduction
  • Constructed from chemically resistant 316 stainless steel
  • Includes a low-voltage heating cartridge and a K-type thermocouple for temperature control
  • FKM fluoroelastomer O-rings (Viton equivalency) ensure chemical resistance and sealing
  • Sample packing tool and spill tray included for safe and efficient sample handling
  • Optical domes with windows:
    • Two KBr windows plus one glass observation window (FTIR configuration)
    • Two SiO2 windows plus one glass observation window (UV-Vis-NIR configuration)
