Starna Green Broadband References (250 – 650 nm)

Starna Green is a general-purpose absorbance reference designed for the routine qualification of ultraviolet and visible spectrophotometers within the wavelength range of 250 nm to 650 nm. It is specifically developed for instruments with wider bandwidths up to 20 nm, but remains suitable for spectrophotometers of all bandwidths.

The solution contains three well-defined peaks at wavelengths of 258 nm, 416 nm, and 630 nm for wavelength calibration and can be used for absorbance values up to 5 A. It is a stable, non-toxic, and REACH-compliant aqueous dye solution, calibrated to certify both wavelength and absorbance across the UV-visible spectrum.

Features and Purposes
  • Available in ten nominal concentrations covering absorptance values from 0.25 A to 5 A
  • Certified nominal absorbance values provided at 258 nm, 416 nm, and 630 nm for instrument qualification
  • Calibrated at bandwidths of 1 nm and 5 nm; other bandwidth calibrations available on request
  • Suitable for spectrophotometers with spectral bandwidths up to 20 nm
  • Option for sets including multiple concentrations and a hydrochloric acid blank cell
  • Provides wavelength qualification for instruments with broader bandwidths where sharp absorption peaks may not be resolvable
