Combined Holmium/Neutral Density Glass (360 – 640 nm)

This combined Holmium Oxide and Neutral Density glass filter serves as a reliable tool for routine verification of both wavelength and absorbance accuracy in visible spectrophotometers. The filter integrates a holmium oxide optical glass bonded to a neutral density filter, generating a nominal 1 absorbance unit (A) background, ideal for absorbance calibration.

Mounted stress-free within an anodised aluminium holder, the filter is protected by sliding window covers that prevent surface damage when not in use. Each filter undergoes individual certification to account for subtle peak position variations inherent to glass batch variations.

Features and Purposes
  • Certified for 7 characteristic wavelength peaks between 360 nm and 640 nm: 361, 419, 446, 454, 460, 537, and 638 nm
  • Background absorbance nominally 1A with certified absorbance values at 431, 516, 557, 594, and 623 nm, located between holmium peaks
  • Calibration certificate provides actual certified values measured at 1 nm bandwidth for precise instrument qualification
  • Nominal absorbance spectrum combines distinct holmium peaks with constant neutral density background
  • Catalog number: RM-HG/1ND
