Didymium Glass Filter (430 – 890 nm)

The Didymium Glass Filter contains didymium oxide, a mixture of neodymium and praseodymium oxides, mounted stress-free in an anodised aluminium holder. This solid-state filter is physically more robust than liquid equivalents, making it suitable for use in demanding environments for routine wavelength checks.

The filter exhibits 11 characteristic absorption peaks spanning the visible spectral range from approximately 430 nm to 890 nm. Each filter is individually certified due to minor variations in melt batches that can affect peak positions. Protective sliding window covers are included to prevent surface damage when not in use.

Features and Purposes
  • Wavelength range: 430 nm to 890 nm
  • Characteristic peak wavelengths (approximate, in nm): 431, 473, 513, 529, 573, 585, 685, 741, 749, 807, 879
  • Individually certified with calibration certificates providing actual peak wavelengths at bandwidths of 0.10, 0.25, 0.50, 1.00, 1.50, 2.00, and 3.00 nm
  • Solid glass construction for enhanced mechanical robustness compared to liquid filters
  • Stress-free mounting in anodised aluminium holder
  • Protective sliding window covers included
  • Suitable for wavelength calibration in visible spectroscopy instruments
