Microvolume DNACON References

The Starna DNACON Microvolume Reference materials are specifically designed to validate DNA purity measurements conducted with dedicated low volume (< 5 µl) and short path length (< 1 mm) spectroscopic instrumentation used in genomics and proteomics applications where sample quantity is limited. These references are also suitable for qualifying conventional spectrophotometers when used with ultra-low volume cells such as the Starna DMV-Bio cell.

This reference consists of a synthetic solution exhibiting spectral properties closely resembling pure DNA, yet overcoming the stability and handling issues inherent to natural DNA. Provided in screw-cap vials for easy dispensing, the solution allows precise transfer via micropipette or syringe. Two concentration levels are available, corresponding to absorbances of approximately 1.0 or 0.5 absorbance units at a nominal 1 mm path length, providing traceability to NIST standards for reliable method validation.
